Job Description
The successful candidate will be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a certification in Special Education, working 1:1 with a special needs student.
Education/Training:
Licensed Practical Nurse Certification and State of Wisconsin, Special Education certification are required. A fee of $100.00 is applicable for a five-year license, with renewals necessary as long as the candidate remains in Special Education.
Experience
- 2 or more years of experience working with children is preferred.
- 2 or more years of experience in primary care or home health settings is preferred.
- CPR certification
- First aid training
The LPN will provide 1:1 supervision and monitoring 100% of the time, including but not limited to: on/off and in the bus, scheduled and as needed medication administration and flushing via J-tube, flushing of G-tube, pulse oximetry, as needed Oxygen, medications per nebulizer, tracheostomy care, trach collar/HME changes, tracheal suctioning as needed throughout the day, and all daily living needs like positioning, transfers, mobility, toileting/diapering, dressing/undressing, building emergency/evacuations, transitioning within the school building and within the community (field trips).
