American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a Med/Surg unit at a Level II Trauma Center in Green Bay, WI, requiring Epic proficiency and ONS or ONCC certification.
Details- 16-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit (IU
1) at a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center in Green Bay, WI - Patient population includes general med/surg, oncology diagnoses, patients receiving chemotherapy, neutropenic precautions, end‑of‑life/hospice care, respiratory issues, and 'swing bed' patients
- Patient ratios are 1:4 on days and 1:5‑6 on nights; ratio becomes 1:1 when administering chemotherapy, returning to normal assignment upon completion
- 12‑hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
- No on‑call requirements
- Float may be required within scope of practice; most common float areas are Obs and Med/Surg 4 – travelers float first
- EMR:
Epic (experience required) - Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Schedule is set in 6‑week increments and provided 2 weeks prior to the start of each cycle
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- ONS or ONCC certification required for this Oncology RN role
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or Oncology nursing experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Experience administering chemotherapy required
- Responsibilities include providing oncology and general med/surg nursing care, chemotherapy administration, and supporting patients in neutropenic precautions, hospice, and end‑of‑life care
- Unit support includes CNA coverage (1:6 days, 1:8 nights), 24/7 hospitalist and respiratory therapy coverage, a SWAT RN (ICU‑trained), centralized telemetry monitoring with tele techs, phlebotomy for peripheral lab draws, and an IV/Vascular Access Team during daytime hours
- Orientation includes a general facility new employee orientation (NEO) and 1 shift on the unit to learn workflow, with possible brief orientation to Obs and Med/Surg 4
- Holiday coverage required for 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved
- Scrubs must be a solid color and professional in appearance – no graphics, logos, or designs
- Charge RN experience is preferred; candidates with charge experience are encouraged to highlight this in their profile
- First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate – no radius restrictions apply
$2,326 per week (inclusive of tax‑free stipends for travel candidates; local pay lower due to taxes)
