American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring prior Level III NICU experience and a WI or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Level III NICU of a Level II Trauma Center with a Level III Maternity unit
- 18-bed unit caring for micropreemies, infants with infections, respiratory distress, and NAS, with no major surgeries performed
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 during both day and night shifts
- 12-hour night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:30am, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Every other holiday coverage required
- No on-call or call-back responsibilities
- May float to Peds/M-S units to care for NICU babies during overflow
- Unit supported by CNAs at a 1:18 ratio, phlebotomy for lab draws, and an assignment-taking charge nurse
- Neonatologist and NP in house 24/7
- Bedside and nurses station tele monitoring with no dedicated tele tech
- Uses EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis systems
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- BLS and NRP certifications required; STABLE certification preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of core Level III NICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Experience with O2 therapy, nitric oxide, CPAP, chest tubes, and care of micropreemies required
- Experience with intubated and vented neonates and delivery required
- Transport experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- At least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required
- Candidate's middle name/initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neonates, including micropreemies and infants requiring respiratory support
- Orientation includes general hospital orientation plus one shift on the unit
- Scrubs of any color are permitted
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers considered upon review
- Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for a travel assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
- Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
- Covid vaccination required
