Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Neuro ICU
Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed Neuro ICU setting, managing patients including stroke, TBI, head injury, and neurosurgery cases
- Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and monitor patients with EVDs and ICP monitoring devices
- Assist with and manage basic bedside ICU procedures including line placement and intubation
- Support bolt and drain bedside placements in collaboration with neurosurgery
- Float between Neuro Critical Care ICU and Med/Surg ICU units, with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
- Document all patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health records
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC
- Current NIHSS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with a background in Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU
- Strong neurological assessment skills required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
- At least one prior travel nursing assignment preferred
- Experience as a Neuro Interventionalist
- Familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring devices
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt well to change
