Our 5-bed Emergency Department (ED) Observation Unit is designed to provide short-term evaluation, treatment, and assessment for patients who do not require full admission to the hospital. Examples of patients seen include but are not limited to those experiencing chest pain, TIA, respiratory illnesses, and hyperglycemia. The Unit is for patients requiring 8-24 hours of observation, allowing staff to monitor and assess patients before determining the need for further care or discharge.

Casual Part-Time, 0.4 FTE (16 hours/week) - Work Schedule:
Various shifts available including Day/Night or PM/Night rotation. Straight Nights are also available. Shifts can be a mix of 8-hours & 12-hours. Every third weekend rotation and three holidays per year. No call.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for providing quality professional nursing care to patients and their families and significant others adhering to the WI Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Code of the WI Board of Nursing, and/or appropriate nursing standards governing nursing in the state of practice, the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and Bellin Health Policies and Procedures.
The responsibility includes providing a safe environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best outcomes for the patient. Community involvement and collaboration is encouraged.
Wisconsin RN license required .
