Authorized Inspector Trainee – Fond Du Lac, WI

HSB seeks an Authorized Inspector Trainee to review and witness activities according to recognized international codes, standards, and regulations such as ASME, PED, and Canadian Standards. The trainee will perform inspections, review client specifications, and provide engineering services throughout the designated area.

• Review and witness activities to recognized international codes, standards and/or regulations.
• Provide inspections to client specifications and perform engineering services.
• Review and accept Job Packages.
• Conduct in‑process inspections.
• Monitor quality control systems.
• Witness final hydrostatic tests.
• Review and sign required forms.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with high pressure boilers, pressure vessels, or nuclear reactors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of ASME & NBIC codes; meet RCI‑1 requirements to qualify for AI/RI examinations.
• Minimum of 3 years experience with an ASME background or Navy prototype and A‑school background.
• Preferred:
  Technical college graduate or engineering degree.
• Preferred:
  Experience with boilers and pressure vessels; risk survey experience.
• Preferred:
  State Certificate of Competency and National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission with “A” endorsement.

• Routinely move around facility or remote locations while performing visual inspections, reviewing NDE reports and calculations.
• Work in outdoor weather conditions that may be frigid or hot.
• May need to lift body weight with safety equipment.
• Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.

• Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance to enter customer facilities.
• May require routine travel among multiple customer locations; company vehicle may be assigned or personal vehicle may be used for company business.
• Must have an acceptable driving record.
