POSITION SUMMARY:

The Retail Internet Used Firearms Specialist position is responsible for creating accurate descriptions and capturing high-quality images of the store's selection of used firearms. The role uploads the used firearm selection descriptions and photographs for the online website, maintaining a high-quality site with accurate, up-to-date inventories. This position assists in making used firearm sales through customer interaction via e‑mail, mail, telephone, and personal contact.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Creates and uploads accurate descriptions and captures high-quality images of the store's selection of used firearms, maintaining a high-quality website with accurate, up-to-date inventories. Adds and deletes specific firearms as they are acquired, disposed, or transferred to keep the online inventory current, meeting company expectations for percentage of guns maintained on the site.
  • Evaluates and purchases used firearms, acquires used firearms into the bound book, and ensures proper payment to the customer.
  • Initiates 4473 forms with customers and conducts the final check of applicable company, state, and federal forms prior to a firearm being transferred to the customer.
  • Assists in making used firearm sales through customer interaction via e‑mail, mail, telephone, and personal contact, providing legendary customer service by greeting, consulting, and assisting customers in finding merchandise and making buying decisions. Processes firearms transactions efficiently in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable law.
  • Produces monthly sales audit reports for used firearms online activities.
  • Acquires all firearms legally and in accordance with ATF, state, and local laws, and company policies, completing required forms and ensuring compliance with waiting periods, background checks, and other regulations.
  • Assists with the acquisition and receipt of firearms, performing audits, mounting optics, safely checking/clearing firearms received by customers or via shipment, and preparing firearms for retail sale.
  • Evaluates and appraises used firearms utilizing historical knowledge and resources.
  • Responds to and handles customer issues using good judgment and logic within the job scope.
  • Ensures visual standards are met by upkeep and maintenance, including restocking, remerchandising, cleaning fixtures, and general housekeeping. Maintains standards within the department and back room, paying attention to proper facing of firearm tags and performing opening and closing duties.
  • Participates in ongoing training, including firearms and shooting product information, diverse shooting discipline awareness, system training, compliance training, and sales skills techniques.
EXPERIENCE /

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree

    Required:

    High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Ability to safely handle firearms and adhere to all company, state, and federal firearms regulations.
  • Ability to provide legendary customer service by greeting, consulting, and assisting customers in finding merchandise and making buying decisions.
  • Ability to operate a camera and computer to upload photos and maintain descriptions.
  • Knowledge of purchasing firearms by either working in the firearms industry or collecting firearms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Constantly remain in a stationary position, often standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Constantly repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
  • Occasionally work in tight and confined spaces.
  • Light work that includes constantly moving objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally lifting and moving objects weighing 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
