Position: AGRICULTURE SERVICE FOREMAN

Agriculture Service Technician Foreman

The Agriculture Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of agricultural machinery and equipment. This includes tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, and other specialized farm equipment. The role requires strong technical skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to provide high-quality service to ensure equipment is operating efficiently in the field. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, able to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and comfortable working in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostics and Repair:
    Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and computerized systems in agricultural equipment.
  • Routine Maintenance:
    Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, greasing, and tire servicing.
  • Equipment Installation and Setup:
    Assemble and install new agricultural equipment, ensuring proper configuration and functionality.
  • Customer Interaction:
    Communicate with customers to explain the nature of mechanical issues, provide repair options, and offer cost estimates.
  • Inventory and Documentation:
    Maintain accurate service records, including parts used, repairs performed, and maintenance activities for each piece of equipment serviced.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience:

    Experience as an agriculture service technician or in a related mechanical role, preferably working with agricultural machinery.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Strong mechanical aptitude with a deep understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and computer-controlled equipment.
  • Problem Solving:
    Excellent troubleshooting skills to quickly and accurately identify the root cause of mechanical issues.
  • Communication:
    Strong verbal communication skills to explain technical issues to customers in a clear and professional manner.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs), work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Education &

    Certifications:

    High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification or completion of an agricultural mechanics or heavy equipment repair program preferred.
