. We design and install technology systems for commercial customers throughout Wisconsin and across the United States.
We are seeking an experienced Lead Structured Cabling Technician to join our Green Bay, WI team. This position is ideal for a skilled commercial low-voltage technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving problems in the field, and has the experience to lead installations and support other technicians.
This position is based in the Green Bay area and primarily supports local commercial projects.
Occasional travel may be required based on project needs.
As a Lead Structured Cabling Technician, you will:
- Lead small crews on commercial structured cabling installations.
- Install, terminate, and test Cat6, and Cat6A copper cabling systems.
- Install, terminate, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling systems.
- Install cable support systems including J-hooks, ladder rack, basket tray, and other pathway solutions.
- Perform Fluke testing, certification, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Install racks, patch panels, cable management, and network infrastructure components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Coordinate work with project managers, customers, and other trades.
- Maintain company standards for cable support, labeling, testing, and workmanship.
- Identify job site challenges and communicate solutions.
- Assist with training and mentoring technicians in the field.
- Represent One Source Technologies professionally with customers and project partners.
The right candidate is someone who understands that a lead technician is responsible for more than completing their own tasks. A successful Lead Structured Cabling Technician takes ownership of the job site, supports the team, and maintains high standards even when no one is watching.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of commercial structured cabling experience preferred.
- Experience leading crews or serving as a field lead.
- Strong knowledge of commercial low-voltage installation practices.
- Experience installing and terminating copper cabling systems.
- Experience with cable pathways, support systems, labeling, and documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot field issues and find solutions.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
Preferred experience:
- BICSI Installer certification.
- Fiber optic installation and termination.
- Fluke testing and certification.
- Access control systems.
- IP surveillance systems.
- AV installation.
- Wireless infrastructure.
