Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks a Forensic Coordinator to support justice‑involved clients in Community & Social Services programs. This role coordinates assessments, individualized service plans, and community‑based treatment for individuals involved with the courts, jails, or probation/parole. The Forensic Coordinator collaborates with legal and behavioral health partners, tracks compliance with court‑ordered services, provides case management, and maintains timely, accurate documentation.

Ideal candidates bring strong engagement, crisis de‑escalation, and organizational skills within a trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, mission‑driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct biopsychosocial and risk/needs assessments for justice‑involved clients
  • Develop and coordinate individualized service and safety plans aligned with court or supervision requirements
  • Provide intensive case management, including outreach, advocacy, and care coordination
  • Collaborate with courts, probation/parole, attorneys, law enforcement, and treatment providers
  • Monitor and document client progress, compliance, and outcomes in electronic health records
  • Provide crisis intervention and de‑escalation; link to higher levels of care as needed
  • Facilitate referrals to behavioral health, housing, employment, and recovery supports
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case staffing
  • Ensure services are trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with agency and funder standards
  • Prepare clear, timely reports and recommendations for legal and community partners
Qualifications
  • Forensic case management

  • Knowledge of criminal justice and court processes
  • Trauma‑informed care
  • Crisis intervention and de‑escalation
  • Care coordination and community resource navigation
  • Clinical documentation and electronic health records
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Behavioral health and co‑occurring disorders knowledge
  • Report writing and communication with legal systems
  • Licensed Social Worker (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) preferred
  • Certification in forensic mental health or criminal justice preferred
  • Training in trauma‑informed care
  • Crisis intervention certification (e.g., CPI) preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
