Key Responsibilities Deliver building materials safely and efficiently to customer job sites while adhering to DOT regulations and company policies.
Provide outstanding customer service and represent Bliffert Lumber professionally at all times.
Maintain confidentiality of company financial information, business plans, and customer information.
Report all injuries, accidents, traffic violations, and safety concerns immediately to management.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Sort, stock, and move lumber and building materials in varying weather conditions and terrain.
Load building materials and supplies for customer orders.
Read and interpret delivery tickets, special orders, invoices, and customer requests.
Follow instructions from supervisors and sales team members regarding deliveries, customer requests, and safety procedures.
Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions safely, following signals from loading crews when necessary.
Operate hydraulic lift gates and other truck-mounted equipment safely.
Secure loads for transport using straps, chains, and other approved securement methods.
Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and route inspections to ensure vehicle and cargo safety.
Drive through weigh stations as required to comply with state and federal regulations.
Utilize hands-free communication devices to stay in contact with dispatch, supervisors, or other drivers.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including checking fluid levels and reporting mechanical issues.
Operate a Moffett forklift for loading and unloading materials at customer locations and job sites.
Operate a boom truck to safely deliver and place roofing, wall panels, trusses, and other building materials as required.
Assist team members with loading and unloading activities and operate powered equipment as needed.
Process and transport lumber returns from job sites back to company locations.
Occasionally carry materials manually into residences or commercial buildings.
Follow all DOT, OSHA, company safety policies, and housekeeping standards.
Participate in ongoing safety and equipment training.a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb;}tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #;}tr th { background-color: #;}Qualifications Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Fed Med Card).Previous CDL driving experience, preferably within the building materials, construction, or lumber industry.
Experience operating a Moffett forklift required or willingness to obtain certification.
Experience operating a boom truck preferred.
Ability to read product labels, safety warnings, shipping documents, invoices, and work schedules.
Ability to complete inventory and loading documentation accurately.
Strong understanding of load securement and safe material handling practices.
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and in varying weather conditions.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to lift, carry, and move building materials as required.
Compensation Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, CDL endorsements, and equipment operation experience.
