Starting pay: $22.25 per hour.

Work Schedule- 4‑day workweek Monday through Thursday (no evenings or weekends).
- 40 hours per week.
- Shift starts at 7:30 am.
Supports warehouse operations primarily by pulling orders for pickup and delivery, loading/unloading cargo, placing products in proper storage locations, and other duties as assigned by the Outbound Supervisor. Work safely following all warehouse policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform all duties safely, following safety rules and supervisory instructions.
- Help meet yearly Pounds per Hour goals.
- Pull, fill, and load orders to achieve daily warehouse goals.
- Audit orders for accuracy and report discrepancies.
- Load and unload cargo using safe load practices.
- Maintain 100% safe floor conditions.
- Restock products as directed by the Material Handling Specialist.
- Report inventory discrepancies to an Inventory Specialist.
- Provide outstanding customer service to guests in the distribution center.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation.
- Follow safety regulations (OSHA, company regulations).
- Complete food safety training and maintain certification within 6 months.
- Record product moves with handheld or lift‑mounted barcode terminals.
- Process accurate paperwork.
- Assist with resolution of inventory discrepancies.
- Act in accordance with Second Harvest Heartland’s Visions and Values.

- High school diploma or equivalent with prior warehouse experience.
- Electric forklift and pallet jack experience.
- Understanding of inventory principles.
- Leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with computer software (Windows and Navision).
- Basic math skills and strong spatial relations.
- Adaptable and flexible to varied work requirements.
- Cooperative with staff and volunteers.
- Ability to cross‑train and perform Level 2 positions.
- Create a welcoming inclusive environment.
- Speak and write English.
- Follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
- Customer service experience preferred.
Work includes lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, standing, stooping, reaching, and operating motor vehicles. The role requires use of both hands for lifting and handling. Physical fatigue may occur during shifts.
Environmental DemandsThe warehouse environment may involve wet/humid conditions, possible violence, vibration, slick floors, and facilities that require safety equipment. Workers may be exposed to machinery, manual hand tools, and chemical hazards.
