General Description
Prepare calendars prior to court by working E-File queue, verifying all case details and information, and adding any additional information needed in court. While in court, document proceedings, prepare Orders, and assess case fees. At the completion of Court proceedings, dispose of cases, prepare Judgment & Sentences and any additional Orders from court. Provide backup for First Appearance hearings.

- Perform First Appearance Hearing.
- Attend Court Proceedings.
- Prepare Court Documents.
- Answer phone calls and assist the public.
- Remain compliant with policies and procedures.
- Regular attendance is an essential function for this position.
- Perform any additional duties that may be assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Licenses/Certificates: A valid Florida Driver's License or Florida Identification is required for the hiring process. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted at the Clerk’s Office discretion.
Required Skills/Abilities- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with fellow employees and the general public.
- Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Applications such as MS Word, MS Outlook, etc. required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Monday through Friday, 40 Hours per week, in accordance with pre-approved work schedule within department.
- Weekend and holiday coverage as needed for First Appearance.
$16.74 - $19.79 per hour depending on experience.
Background ChecksAll employees of the Clerk's Office are required to have their fingerprints scanned as part of the hiring process so that a criminal background check can be performed. All employment shall remain probationary at least until the background is cleared. Because it is necessary for all Clerk’s Office employees to be bonded, any criminal background check results that reveal a finding of guilt by a court or jury, an admission of guilt or no contest in any criminal matter regardless of adjudication may result in termination even after probationary time is completed.
