Position Overview Challenge Enterprises of North Florida is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Commercial Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the overall operation of a commercial grounds maintenance project.

This position supervises a work crew of up to six employees and is responsible for crew training, scheduling, transportation, customer service, timekeeping, equipment operation and upkeep, safety compliance, and the day-to-day performance of the assigned project.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on supervisor who can lead a crew, maintain strong customer relationships, operate grounds maintenance equipment safely, and help ensure the project is completed efficiently and professionally.

What You’ll DoProject & Crew Supervision Manage the day-to-day operation of a profitable commercial grounds maintenance project.

Supervise, transport, and train a work crew of up to six employees.

Schedule assigned workers on a rotating basis.

Maintain timecards for assigned personnel and accurately report labor hours for payroll purposes.

Maintain required records and reports for Human Resources.

Report directly to the Assistant Project Manager.

Grounds Maintenance & Equipment Operate gas-powered mowing, edging, weeding, and blowing equipment.

Safely transport, operate, and secure grounds maintenance equipment for its intended purposes.

Perform equipment safety checks prior to use.

Prepare equipment for the next day’s use.

Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on assigned equipment.

Customer Service & Project Support Provide outstanding customer service and promote a positive relationship with the onsite customer.

Maintain customer service records and work schedules.

Actively promote services to potential customers.

Complete other duties as assigned, including seasonal or project-related responsibilities that may change based on operational needs.

Safety & Compliance Enforce the use of required personal protective equipment.

Maintain safety standards established in the agency safety manual.

Promote a safety-first work environment and remain alert to hazards associated with grounds maintenance duties.

Immediately notify the supervisor if any duty on the daily work schedule cannot be completed.

What We’re Looking For We are looking for a dependable leader who can supervise a crew while remaining actively involved in daily grounds maintenance operations. The ideal candidate communicates well, provides strong customer service, works effectively both independently and as part of a team, and keeps safety and quality at the center of the project.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to pass a Level II background check

Valid Florida driver’s license

Clean driving record for the past three years

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to safely operate grounds maintenance equipment

Preferred Qualifications Minimum of two years of related experience preferred

Computer experience, including Microsoft Word and Excel, is a plus

Physical Requirements Routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than 50 pounds.

Items weighing more than 50 pounds are moved using a team lift.

Ability to perform hands-on grounds maintenance work and safely operate assigned equipment.
