Job Summary
Wire Assembly Technician – Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Job Summary - First shift, second shift & weekend work The Wire Assembly Technician is responsible for installing, routing, connecting, and securing electrical wiring and related components during the manufacturing and assembly of heavy equipment. This position will primarily support the installation of audio/stereo systems, hydraulic control wiring, switches, accessories, and other electrical components according to specifications and production requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Install and route electrical wiring and wire harnesses throughout heavy equipment during the manufacturing process.
- Install wiring for audio/stereo systems, speakers, hydraulic controls, switches, gauges, lighting, and other accessories.
- Connect wires to switches, control panels, motors, sensors, relays, and other electrical components.
- Read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, work instructions, and assembly drawings.
- Cut, strip, crimp, terminate, splice, and connect electrical wires as required.
- Install connectors, terminals, plugs, wire loom, clamps, and protective coverings.
- Previous experience with electrical wiring, wire harness assembly, automotive electrical systems, equipment assembly, or similar manufacturing work preferred.
- Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Knowledge of 12V/24V electrical systems is preferred.
- Experience installing automotive or heavy-equipment audio, accessory, or hydraulic control wiring is a plus.
- Ability to use basic electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify proper wire routing and connections.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the shift.
Ability to work inside, underneath, and around heavy equipment during assembly.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to perform repetitive hand movements associated with wiring, crimping, fastening, and assembly work.
