Job Overview
The Supervisor will be responsible for managing and directing a staff of lab analysts and all related quality‑testing activities, as well as the day‑to‑day affairs of the QC/QA Laboratory.
Responsibilities- Direct activities of QC/QA analysts to assure the completion of validation and accuracy of USP testing, SPD logbook results, and finished product inspections/testing.
- Conduct Test Method Reviews and collaborate with Corporate R&D to improve method efficiencies or costs.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and other regulatory standards by Lab Analysts and in laboratory SOPs and procedures.
- Maintain JIT inventory of chemicals, reagents, glassware, etc. within budget.
- Work closely with corporate representatives regarding new or revised product specifications to manage the site’s BOM process and facilitate successful completion of test plans.
- Establish and maintain procedures for tracking plant costs incurred to produce quality finished goods in support of the Cost of Quality initiative.
- Verify and approve timecards for non‑exempt Lab Analysts; cover their time away from work and distribute overtime consistently.
- Conduct internal ISO and sanitation audits of the facility.
- Conduct external inspections of suppliers and make recommendations for hiring and terminations within the department.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of five years of applicable experience.
- Experience in FDA requirements/inspections, ISO, and Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to reason and make timely, quality decisions.
- Proven interpersonal skills, leadership ability, and strong communication skills.
OSHA Safety Training.
Working ConditionsMust be able to work and be comfortable in an industrial environment and chemical processing facility. Must possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment. Must maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
