Position Overview

We are seeking a high-energy, consultative Outside Sales Representative to drive new business growth in our territory. In this role, you won't just be selling software—you will be solving complex business challenges for C-suite executives, HR directors, and business owners.

As a Field Rep, your primary focus is to hunt for new opportunities, build strategic referral networks, uncover organizational pain points, and deliver tailored workforce solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
1. Territory Development & Prospecting
  • Targeted Hunting: Build and execute a strategic outreach plan focusing on high-value business prospects within key industries in your territory.
  • Multi-Channel Outreach: Execute a rigorous multi-touch cadence across phone calls, emails, social media networking, and strategic physical drop-ins.
  • Relationship & Alliance Building: Cultivate a robust local network by conducting consistent networking meetings with key center-of-influence (COI) partners, including CPAs, Financial Advisors, Brokers, and local professional associations.
2. The Consultative Sales Process
  • First-Time Appointments (FTAs): Set and run a consistent volume of weekly face-to-face introductory meetings to introduce our brand, map out the prospect's current vendor landscape, and identify core inefficiencies.
  • Deep-Dive Analysis: Conduct thorough operational analyses to uncover friction in how data flows through a prospect's current HR and accounting ecosystem.
  • Solution Demos & Proposals: Build rapport, outline custom agendas, and lead tailored system demonstrations for prospects.
  • Closing Deals: Deliver and present pricing proposals directly to prospects, emphasizing value, operational improvements, and ROI.
  • CRM Discipline: Maintain immaculate data integrity within the company CRM, documenting all activity, notes, and progression stages for every lead and account.
  • Client Relationship Management: Conduct post-sale check-ins to ensure customer satisfaction, uncover additional product/upsell opportunities, and extract high-value referrals.
Performance Metrics & Expectations

We win as a team, and we measure success clearly. Representatives are expected to meet the foundational guidelines outlined in our standard Sales Process, which include:

  • Activity Volume: Maintaining a consistent pipeline by securing a set number of completed introductory meetings and dedicated networking calls every month.
  • Accountability: We maintain a culture of high performance with clear, structured milestone reviews to ensure every rep is supported and on track to hit their numbers.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 1–5 years of B2B outside sales experience (payroll, HR technology, SaaS, or consultative business services experience is a major plus).
  • Prospecting Prowess: Proven track record of cold-calling, executing multi-touch outreach cadences, and overcoming gatekeepers.
  • Consultative Seller: Exceptional ability to ask open-ended questions, actively listen, map out complex workflows, and sell on value rather than price.
  • Networker: Naturally skilled at building long-term, reciprocal referral relationships with professional partners.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable utilizing modern CRM platforms to manage a pipeline, and capable of confidently running software demonstrations.
  • Drive: Self-motivated, resilient, and possesses a strong "hunter" mentality.
