Job DescriptionLa Posada Green Valley is seeking a passionate, dependable, and enthusiastic Spanish Instructor to join our campus community as an Independent Contractor and share the beauty of the Spanish language and culture with our interested residents.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an engaging instructor who enjoys working with adult learners and creating a welcoming, enjoyable, and enriching classroom experience. The instructor will teach beginner-level oral and written Spanish, develop and tailor lessons to meet the needs and interests of residents, and potentially introduce multi-level classes as participation, interest, and skill levels grow.

Days and times to be determined based on resident interest and instructor availability.
Responsibilities- Develop engaging lesson plans and curriculum appropriate for students with varying levels of experience and backgrounds.
- Provide conversational Spanish instruction, with an emphasis on pronunciation, vocabulary, and useful words and phrases.
- Incorporate reading and writing instruction, including Spanish composition, into classroom lessons as appropriate.
- Utilize effective teaching methods, instructional materials, activities, and language games to create an engaging learning environment.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with students through email and class communication groups.
- Introduce students to Spanish-speaking cultures, traditions, and customs, which may include festivals, traditional foods, dress, music, and social conventions.
- Create opportunities for residents to practice and showcase their Spanish language skills through fun and engaging activities or events.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and respectful classroom environment where residents feel comfortable learning and participating.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Spanish language, literature, education, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Near-native or advanced fluency in Spanish.
- Teaching certificate, license, or demonstrated teaching experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop engaging lessons and adapt instruction to different learning styles and skill levels.
- Well-organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Detail-oriented, patient, adaptable, and resilient.
- A genuine interest in working with and enriching the lives of seniors.
