Sr Principal Product Engineer

Job Overview:

At Cadence, our Product Engineering team sits at the intersection of customer needs and cutting-edge EDA innovation. Working closely with customers, foundries, R&D, Marketing, and Application Engineers, you will develop solutions to the most complex design challenges in the semiconductor and electronics industries and you will see the direct impact of your work in products that power the world.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary interface between customers and corporate R&D for all system-level design and analysis challenges.
  • Capture requirements, develop, test, and deliver software integrations that address unique customer needs.
  • Evaluate and qualify technical issues using provided test cases, and execute expert-level benchmarks.
  • Establish efficient workflows to improve system design and analysis tool quality and performance.
  • Resolve complex customer issues in collaboration with R&D, field teams, foundries, and global Product Engineers.
  • Define product requirements and enhancements in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Partner with WFO to drive timely and professional product rollouts.

Job Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of experience in extraction, with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's or PhD preferred).
  • Strong background in package and PCB design with EM analysis, including solid understanding of solver technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with industry tools such as Clarity, Sigrity, APD, Allegro, or compatible third-party tools.
  • Experience with extraction in advanced technology nodes.
  • Knowledge of physical verification processes, including test & measurement and simulation correlation.
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation tools such as SystemSI, Spectre, Microwave Office, ADS, or HSPICE.
  • Excellent communication skills - comfortable engaging with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Programming experience in Tcl, Python, or SKILL.
