• Work with limited supervision to provide technical knowledge and guidance assisting with maintenance and repair of automation systems and associated circuitry.
• Provide installation, diagnostics, repair and programming of industrial automation systems and equipment.
• Interface with staff Engineers, external technical representatives, operations and maintenance personnel.
• Provide automation system maintenance, electrical/instrumentation assistance and associated programming for support.
• Actively participate in safety and environmental programmes and other programmes determined by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation programme; OR
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications and networking.
• Strong technical knowledge in electronic communications interfaces and protocols.
• Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
• Valid State Driver's Licence.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety and electronic message transmission policies of the company.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime as business needs dictate.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate of Applied Science degree in a technical field.
• HMI/PLC and/or DCS programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Understanding of historical data collection systems.
• Emerson Delta V DCS and/or Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting, commissioning and configuration experience.
• Low Voltage ABB VFD configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
• Worked with HART, Ethernet IP, TCP/IP, Modbus RTU communications protocols.

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety‑related instructions and procedures given in English.
• Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
• Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
• May be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
• May be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
• May be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation.
• Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear and, as needed, respirator, rubber steel‑toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required.
