Overview

The Office Move Coordinator serves as the intermediary between the customer and the Move Contractors' Project Manager. The role coordinates workload tasks in line with customer requests, schedules, and job estimates from the Move Contractor. The Move Coordinator collaborates daily with the Move Contractor and GSFC customers to identify potential problems and develop workarounds to ensure relocations are performed efficiently and satisfactorily.

The Move Coordinator works with movements of free-standing, systems, or modular furniture, including breakdowns and setups, and utilizes items from the reutilization program when appropriate. The Move Coordinator performs data entry tasks and supports Transportation Branch operations, and prepares, maintains, and consolidates transportation statistical reports. Duties may be performed at various Goddard Space Flight Center locations and in the greater Baltimore-Washington DC metropolitan area.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates, documents, and monitors office moves
  • Provides face-to-face coordination with the customer to ensure move requirements are identified
  • Interacts with Move Contractors' Project Manager to complete move requests within the weekday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM timeframe
  • With the Move Contractor, provides budgetary estimates/cost analysis to customers
  • For large relocation efforts, attends coordination meetings and makes recommendations related to services requested
  • Provides all appropriate move information to the Move Contractor, who conducts walk-throughs with the customer to determine manpower, equipment, and time estimates;
    Move Contractor may request the Move Coordinator's participation in walk-throughs as required
  • Interfaces with the customer and the Move Contractor on the projected move date to resolve questions or problems
  • Provides guidance and assistance to the customer for damage claims from initiation to resolution
  • Participates in post-move meetings with the customer, management, and Move Contractor to identify lessons learned and update Work Instructions; assists the customer with the office moves customer service survey
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of progressive experience in a position providing broad-based office move support
  • Working knowledge of commercial carrier contracts, claim procedures, and invoice verification
  • Ability to perform job requirements with minimal guidance and direction from the Transportation Branch Manager
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work in conjunction with the Move Contractor, customers, and management
  • Ability to resolve problems/conflicts related to moving tasks
  • Working knowledge of free-standing, systems, and modular furniture (i.e. manufacturers, products and layouts)
  • Strong communications skills (written and verbal)
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. The employee must be able to view a computer monitor for extended periods. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform duties and responsibilities.

Rate of Pay/Benefits

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000
