Senior Electronics Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Electronics Technician to support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of complex electromechanical assemblies across both Engineering and Production environments. This role reports to the Manager of Operations and is primarily on-site in Frederick, MD, with occasional support in Greenbelt, MD.

Key Responsibilities

* Diagnose and troubleshoot production line failures

* Provide measurement data, analysis and technical support to engineering teams during prototyping, testing, and hardware validation

* Maintain accurate records of issues, repairs, and root causes, including tracking by device serial numbers and return numbers for warranty cases

* Collect, organize, and present test data to assist engineers with root cause analysis and corrective actions

* Manage calibration schedules and documentation for TRX-owned equipment across production and engineering lab

* Support production teams with equipment setup, testing, and troubleshooting during new product introductions (NPI) and field upgrades

* Perform electromechanical assembly tasks for low-volume prototype builds

* Assist operations with parts storage, inventory control, and periodic audits

Required Qualifications

* Clearance: U.S. citizenship required

* Experience:

5-10 years of experience in electronics assembly, repair, maintenance and testing

* Electronics technician certificate or equivalent training required

* Proficiency with diagnostic tools and standard electronic test equipment

* Strong troubleshooting, measurement, and analytical skills

* Strong communication skills; organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications

* Experience with PCB assembly, soldering, and rework

* Familiarity with standard lab equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with advanced lab instruments such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, RF recorders, and vector network analyzers

* IPC-610 and JSTD-001 certifications

Physical Requirements

* Ability to work in office, lab, and occasional field environments

* Ability to lift equipment and handle small electronics components

* Occasional travel may be required to support customer needs or industry events
