Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients seeking routine health services or important diagnostic insights. This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures. The PSR II maintains direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while performing venipuncture safely and accurately.

The role requires leadership behaviors, process excellence, and strict attention to confidentiality and patient information accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under direction of the area supervisor
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture
  • Ensure specimen labeling accuracy in patient presence
  • Maintain required records and documentation
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Required Experience
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
  • Excellent pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy skills
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
  • Strong communication skills and customer focus
  • Keyboard and data entry experience
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environment
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
