Cheeseman Transport is hiring a 1st Shift Freight Handler in Greencastle, Indiana to load, unload and secure freight. This position supports daily terminal operations by ensuring trailers are loaded correctly and freight keeps moving safely and efficiently.
Pay- Starting Pay: $19.50 per hour ( make up to $23.50 after 3 years)
- Direct Deposit
- Monday –Friday: 6:00AM - 2:00pm
- Operate equipment to load and unload freight from dry van trailers and containers.
- Secure and unblock freight in trailers using nail guns, wooden blocks, and pry bars
- Verify and stage equipment properly for loading/ unloading
- Clean and maintain a safe working environment daily
- Communicate with supervisors and drivers throughout the day to ensure all needs are met.

Job Requirements
- Candidates should be 18 years old and should have the ability to read bills of lading
- Physically transfer and secure cargo
- Be able to work in a fast paced work environment.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Be able to carry blocking into trailers.
