Burnet Campus. Department:
Phlebotomy Messenger Center.
Shift: Evening (3:00pm to 11:30pm).
Schedule:
Full time, Weekly Hours 40, FTE 1 Employee, Status Regular.
Expected Starting Pay Range: $18.16 - $22.25 (based on experience, skills, equity). Additional pay may apply for shift/on‑call/differentials. Benefits may apply.
Job Responsibilities- Technical/Phlebotomy:
Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point‑of‑care testing services, and processing. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding tests and specimen acquisition. Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research. - Customer Service:
Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs. Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit. Provide emotional support as needed. Communicate courteously and conscientiously. Promptly attend to requests and concerns. - Collaboration:
Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Adjust style to complement others. Develop positive working relationships, interact respectfully and professionally. Share knowledge and support team members. Contribute to a positive work environment. - Professional Development:
Maintain currency in the field through continuing education, conferences, meetings, in‑services, networking, literature, and seminars. Attend mandatory CCHMC training sessions. Apply knowledge and skills ticipate in professional committees, agencies, councils, or activities. - Compliance:
Understand and comply with applicable policies, guidelines, regulations, and accreditation standards. Document compliance. Maintain compliance with CCHMC Core Standards and code of ethics. Ensure work areas are organized, safe, and efficient.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other relevant clinical lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program.
- Preferred:
Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification.
