Job Responsibilities

• Patient Care – Under the delegation of the Medical Director of Dialysis and direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs and monitors dialysis procedures.
• Environment – Set up, dismantle, and monitor dialysis machines and systems; monitor machines and RO water system for correct functioning, respond to alarms and make appropriate adjustments during treatment; dismantle, clean, and disinfect machines and equipment per CCHMC policies.
• Work Area Organization – Ensures all areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective, and efficient environment for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
• Infection Control – Complies with Infection Control policies and procedures; adheres to safety procedures appropriate to children’s ages and development levels.
• Fiscal Responsibility – Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and accountability with respect to patient charges and Cincinnati Children’s charge capture, performs duties related to charging and reconciling as assigned.
• Communication – Demonstrates Cincinnati Children’s CARES behaviors in all interactions; reports patient status changes on an ongoing basis and in change-of-shift summaries; documents information promptly in the patient medical record; seeks guidance when needed; discusses concerns with Manager.
• Administrative Report – Responds to patient alarms with urgency; answers telephone following CCHMC etiquette; assembles charts, orders patient supplies, stocks clerical supplies; proactively reviews and reports inventory shortages to manager.
• Purpose – Assist professional staff in delivering hemodialysis treatment for ESRD patients.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of related work experience.
• Dialysis Technician certification from a state or national program.
• Ohio Dialysis Technician License.
• Primary location:
  Burnet Campus; schedule: part‑time (20 hrs per week, 0.5 FTE).
• Expected starting pay: $20.57 – $25.72 annualized per FTE.
