Assistant Professor – Neurology (Epilepsy & Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring)

The Division of Neurology seeks an Assistant Professor with a strong background in epilepsy treatment and an interest in training in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM). In this role, you will collaborate with world‑renowned experts, conduct groundbreaking research, and impact the lives of our young patients by treating seizures, minimizing medication side effects, and addressing emotional and developmental concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct cutting‑edge research in neurology, focusing on epilepsy or IONM
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in epilepsy/IONM
  • Collaborate with researchers and experts to advance knowledge in epilepsy/IONM
  • Develop and implement innovative techniques and technologies for epilepsy/IONM
  • Participate in clinical trials and studies related to epilepsy/IONM
  • Provide expert consultation to healthcare teams on epilepsy/IONM cases
  • Stay up‑to‑date on the latest advancements and incorporate them into practice
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs and resources for medical professionals and patients
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees related to IONM and neurology
  • Represent the institution at national and international conferences and events related to IONM and neurology
  • Oversee educational/training programs and ensure effective mentorship of trainees
Qualifications and Experience
  • MD, DO, or MD/PhD with board certification in Neurology and special competence in Child Neurology
  • Rank of Assistant Professor
  • Active research program relevant to neurology
  • Strong reputation in the field of neurology
  • Strong background in epilepsy and IONM
  • Experience in a complex, integrated academic medical setting
  • Commitment to alignment with Cincinnati Children’s culture and beliefs
  • Ability to develop a vision and successfully implement new epilepsy/IONM initiatives that advance the field of neurology
