Greendale Park Nursing & Rehab

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Director to oversee the daily operations of our environmental services departments in our Skilled Nursing Facility. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the facility is safe, clean, functional, and comfortable for residents, staff, and visitors. The Director will oversee the maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry teams while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the operations of the maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry departments
    .

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate staff across all three departments.

  • Ensure the facility, equipment, and grounds are maintained in safe working condition.

  • Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, and improvements of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, etc.).

  • Ensure the facility remains clean, sanitary, and welcoming through effective housekeeping operations.

  • Manage laundry services to ensure residents’ clothing, linens, and facility linens are properly cleaned and cared for.

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, state, federal, infection control, and life safety regulations.

  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation of building systems and environmental services.

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and inventory of supplies.

  • Collaborate with administration and department heads to support resident care and satisfaction.

  • Participate in safety committees, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school preferred.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in facility maintenance, preferably in healthcare or skilled nursing.

  • Supervisory/management experience required, preferably overseeing multiple departments.

  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, housekeeping, laundry operations, and regulatory standards.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Ability to respond to emergencies and prioritize effectively.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform hands-on work when needed.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and work in a variety of environments.
