Overview
The Division of Allergy and Immunology treats children with allergic conditions such as food allergies, asthma, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, latex allergy, drug allergy, and insect sting sensitivity. The role supports innovative research, outstanding clinical care, and education to improve children’s health.
Job Responsibilities- Integrate the Interprofessional Practice Model in all care activities.
- Apply clinical judgment by synthesizing data and anticipating problems; seek interprofessional collaboration.
- Improve documentation of care plans, delivery, and outcomes.
- Engage patients and families in goals and plans; collaborate with providers and community resources.
- Provide age-specific and culturally inclusive care; consider developmental level.
- Use self‑management strategies to develop care goals with patients and families.
- Develop and modify patient/family education programs; evaluate effectiveness using teach‑back methods.
- Support smooth transition to home by integrating appropriate strategies into the plan of care.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Lead charge nurse responsibilities, coordinate team care, anticipate and mitigate unexpected events.
- Mentor colleagues and new staff; facilitate learning and knowledge sharing.
- Lead or serve on councils, committees, task forces, or projects to improve patient safety and quality.
- Execute clinical inquiry and performance review to improve practice; use evidence and research.
- Advocate for patients and families, ensuring moral decisions align with their values.
- Promote inclusion and cultural competence, incorporating alternative therapies when appropriate.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA accredited institution or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Active Ohio registered nurse license; other state licensure if required.
- Active certification; specialty certification may be required.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; experience in higher acuity or emergency management preferred (ICU or acute care).
- Experience with care coordination and foundation-level office work.
- Willingness to travel to multiple locations and occasional midday travel.
- Team player who takes initiative and maintains a positive attitude.
- Interest in growth through committee involvement, leadership roles, or RNII/III level.
