Teacher/Special Education

The Special Education Teacher in the CDC classroom is responsible for providing instruction to special needs students and maintaining required paperwork at federal, state, and local levels. Also responsible for teaching TN State Standards and leading students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, psychological growth, and maturation. Assisting students with daily life functions (toileting, eating, etc.) may be required.

The teacher will lead a classroom with multiple assistants, managing a team setting. This Full Time position DOES include benefits.

Applicants must have a current valid educator license with appropriate endorsement(s) to serve all special needs populations, modified and comprehensive. Additional endorsements in English, Math (Alg. I), or Science preferred. CPR/First Aid certifications are required. Must have strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Must have satisfactory background/fingerprint checks as required by the Tennessee State Department of Education and state law.

Must meet health and physical requirements.
