Job Description
* Obeys all plant/safety rules and complies with all OSHA regulations.
* Collects and evaluates scrap material from various departments to sort as applicable and place into baler to be converted into bales.
* Evaluates various types of scrap and strives for optimum salvage.
* Operates mechanical equipment in recycling scrap material.
* Operates wire binder on baler.
* Maintains weight of bales for record keeping.
* Places bale in storage area for disposal.
* Reports repairs needed for train cars and gondolas to supervisor.
* Maintains operation of batteries for all industrial power trucks.
* Maintains power truck batteries to prolong the batteries and chargers life.
* Maintains records pertaining to the history of chargers on a weekly and batteries on a daily basis.
