Overview
This position reports to the TN Production Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities. The role functions as a floor presence and supervision of production and logistics employees when assigned.
Responsibilities- Coordinates production based on production schedule and reports the quantities and salvage to the appropriate Excel sheets and the production meeting group.
- Coordinates the production to be within set targets.
- Keeps the shop floor clean and organized.
- Maintain staffing as necessary and approved.
- Verifies and reports efficiency per employee based on the efficiency report and develops corrective action if operator or equipment is not capable.
- Ensures that each employee runs their job at a maximum efficiency level.
- Follows the regimen of continuous improvement at all production and logistics cells.
- Demonstrates equipment operations or work procedures to new employees or assigns employees to experienced workers for training and verifies that they follow work instructions.
- Ensures that the quality training records for BP and WI are up to date for all employees.
- Ensures/verifies that QS is auditing the daily production; has the ability to shut down production for product and quality issues.
- Confers with management, Human Resources and/or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints or grievances, and/or performance evaluations.
- Verifies employee attendance and records and coordinates with Human Resources for accurate timekeeping.
- Confers with Team Leads that non‑conforming materials are properly located in designated wire baskets in designated areas by the end of the shift.
- Ensures that all safety standards and company policies are followed in their area of responsibility.
- Develops/implements Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Participates effectively in corrective action teams to address root causes in a timely manner.
- Performs any additional duties that have not been specifically stated but may be assigned and are logically and properly inherent to this position.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and ability to delegate authority.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous supervisory experience over multiple departments.
- Ability to take pertinent training and/or classes as related to the position.
- Ability to acquire basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Completion of high school education or equivalent.
- Ability to gain knowledge of company products and comply with quality, environmental and safety policies and procedures.
- Work is generally performed in a production plant 100% of the time.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, lift, pull or move objects of 50 pounds or less with or without assistance.
