- Obeys all plant/safety rules and complies with all OSHA regulations.
- Collects and evaluates scrap material from various departments to sort as applicable and place into baler to be converted into bales.
- Evaluates various types of scrap and strives for optimum salvage.
- Operates mechanical equipment in recycling scrap material.
- Operates wire binder on baler.
- Maintains weight of bales for record keeping.
- Places bale in storage area for disposal.
- Reports repairs needed for train cars and gondolas to supervisor.
- Maintains operation of batteries for all industrial power trucks.
- Maintains power truck batteries to prolong the batteries and chargers life.
- Maintains records pertaining to the history of chargers on a weekly and batteries on a daily basis.
