Robotic Technician

As a Robotic Technician, you will plan and develop robotics programs, production floor technical support of robotic work cells and peripheral equipment. The Robotic Technician will be responsible for cost reduction initiatives, assistance with initiatives related to fixtures and tools and assistance in the development and implementation of new robotic programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains and promotes a strong safety culture and follows all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identifies and communicates workplace hazards and corrects or seeks assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Maintains, modifies, and implements robotic process programs. Modifies existing robotic processes and adds/modifies weld paths as needed.
  • Continually works to improve and optimize programs.
  • Trains hourly associates in the correct operation of the robotic weld cells by providing training on the production floor or in a classroom setting.
  • Assists to develop and improve our internal preventative maintenance processes to increase machine up-time and availability.
  • Assists in the implementation of customer focused processes and product improvements.
  • Analyzes robot and all peripheral equipment failures and repairs as needed.
  • Collects and performs basic analysis of various data points.
  • Participates on project development and implementation team for new products and processes. Improves existing products as assigned.
  • Develops safe processes and monitors existing processes to ensure the safety of all associates.
  • Ensures that poka-yoke techniques are maintained to address quality issues.
  • Writes work orders and material requisitions, as necessary.
  • Maintains technical documentation and training requirements for robot cells including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of systems.
Key Skills and

Competencies:
  • Ability to read and interpret weld prints.
  • High competency level with Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Possession of strong problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or four years of robotic experience in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Experience in metal fabrication, welding, painting, or assembly is preferred.
  • PLC experience desirable.
  • ABB or Fanuc programming experience is preferred.
Working Conditions/Other:
  • Second shift: 3 PM- 11:30 PM; overtime as required.
  • Salary, Non-exempt.
  • No travel requirements.
  • This position works primarily in a production environment with some office work.
  • This position requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting approximately 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law, compliance, trends, new technologies and best practices in areas of responsibilities.
