American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a community hospital night shift position requiring 1:7 ratios and a TN or compact RN license.

• Medical Surgical unit in a community hospital setting
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (6:30 PM-7:00 AM), 36/36 schedule
• Floating required
• No call responsibilities
• Epic charting system preferred

• Active TN or compact RN license
• AHA BLS required; AHA ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience with 1:6-7 ratio experience
• AHA certification is the only accepted form for BLS/ACLS
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management preferred
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration preferred
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• GI, GU/renal, orthopedic, and plastics surgical drain care experience preferred
• Experience with total joint replacement and surgical drains preferred

• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg and MS/Tele patient populations
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area; local candidates not accepted
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
