Safety Coordinator

What You'll Do as a Safety Coordinator:
- Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to confirm that teams are utilizing protective equipment properly and that all machinery safeguards are active.
- Lead accident and near-miss investigations to pinpoint root causes, identify safety trends, and establish preventative strategies.
- Onboard new hires with comprehensive safety overviews and train existing staff on safe equipment operation.
- Manage the on-site Safety Committee and oversee forklift operator certification programs.
- Coordinate safety audits, fire inspections, and regulatory visits, while maintaining crucial compliance documentation like the OSHA 300 log.
- Monitor medical restrictions for returning employees and coordinate modified work duties alongside management and Human Resources.
Skills and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, paired with up to two years of experience in a safety-focused or industrial/woodworking environment.
- Strong computer literacy, including professional experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with OSHA and DOT standards, with First Aid/CPR certification highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate safety requirements across all levels of the organization.
- The ability to stay highly organized, manage confidential info carefully, and split time effectively between different facility sites.
- A collaborative, team-first mindset and a commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace
