Position: Quality Auditor / Safety Technician - 1st Shift

Essential

Functions (Quality):
  • Use and maintain laboratory and test equipment to determine the physical and chemical characteristics of materials for conformance
  • Perform finished goods audits of manufactured products at established frequencies, or as requested, for certification. This includes dimensional, cleanliness, appearance, and packaging checks of randomly selected products
  • Initiate non-conformance reports as needed
  • Perform containment on suspect materials as requested
  • Maintain tool calibration system in conjunction with Quality staff
  • Maintain inspection documentation for Quality with up-to-date information
  • Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required
Essential Functions (Safety):
  • Perform safety audits and train others to perform audits
  • Create safety standardized documents for production and support functions
  • Conduct safety training with new employees, current employees, visitors and contractors
  • Track safety initiatives scheduled on regulatory compliance calendars
  • Support incident investigations
  • Support corrective action planning and implementation
  • Communicate safety incidents through company software systems

Qualifications:
  • A combination of education and experience, generally acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to:
    Read prints/engineering drawings/standards and route sheets
  • Learn the use of common inspection tools through sophisticated lab equipment
  • Work effectively with limited supervision
  • Make sound decisions
  • Communicate effectively with all plant employees
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Exhibit attention to detail
  • Provide and maintain a safety first culture and adhere to safety procedures
  • Work effectively in Microsoft Office computer programs
  • Work in a team environment toward a common goal with all plant personnel
  • Maintain a pattern of regular and predictable attendance
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
  • Quality: IATF 16949 internal auditor certification preferred
  • Safety: ISO 14001 internal auditor certification preferred
