Summary

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Drives gasoline or diesel‑powered tractor‑trailer combination to transport and deliver products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
  • Build kit boxes for shipments using BOM.
  • Assist with receiving duties.
  • Palletize parts using a bander or shrink wrap.
  • Verifies all paperwork and material for incoming and outgoing shipments match up correctly.
  • Helps with all inventory counts.
  • Operates forklift or pallet jack to move product throughout the facility.
  • Must be able to climb up and down ladders often.
  • Using ladder, safely climb on top of loads that reach heights of 13 ft 6 in while using required PPE.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Make sure loads are safe and secure.
  • Use forklift to stage smaller parts for loads and retrieve parts from other departments as needed.
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least one year commercial driving experience.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of LN and Logistics software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to pass forklift written and driving test. Must have a Class A CDL and a satisfactory driving record.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50–100 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. Noise level is usually moderate.
