Material Handler Warehouse

This position reports to Warehouse Supervisor. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

This position will work to ensure all product is safely and efficiently moved throughout the warehouse area as directed. This position performs duties associated with transport, storage, and organization of parts in the receiving area. This position will include material handling responsibilities as well as SAP system use on a scanner.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Utilize material handling equipment to load/unload racks or trucks with product and place in appropriate areas
• Complete all necessary SAP transactions in the handheld scanner as trained to ensure all product can be located and found during checks
• Conduct rack checks of both indoor and outdoor racks as needed
• Assist with ensuring that product is labeled and packaged properly for the next departments use
• Work alongside the warehouse staff to ensure all departments receive requested materials in a timely manner
• Ensure all labels are visible and in legible condition and alert warehouse staff if they are not so they can be replaced immediately
• Ensure all daily checks on material handling equipment is completed
• Ability to escalate to direct report at times of uncertainty to ensure all processes are followed
• Assist with any assigned 5S and LEAN housekeeping initiatives
• Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned, and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position

Requirements:

a) Previous experience in warehouse a plus

b) Prior material handling experience preferred but not required

c) Ability to gain knowledge of operating scanner to transfer materials in SAP

d) Ability to obtain JOST International Fork Truck Certification

e) Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures

Physical requirements:

a) Work is generally performed in a warehouse/receiving area 100% of time

b) While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift, pull or move objects of 50 pounds or less with or without assistance.
