Able to converse in English and Spanish. Knowledge of safety rules and habits. Knowledge of roadway safety practices; traffic safety regulations as they apply to school crossings; sources of emergency assistance. Ability to understand roadway and traffic safety practices and regulations; inform school children of proper safety methods and assure that they observe all safety precautions; maintain cooperation of motorist at school crossings;

react quickly and effectively in emergency situations and keep simple records and reports. Knowledge of standards of courtesy to be observed by children. Ability to supervise children lity to maintain acceptable standards of behavior among the children. Ability to enlist the cooperation of students in the enforcement of rules and regulations. Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions.

Ability to take notes and make written short reports.
