Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and performing advanced accounting activities, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial analysis and decision‑making. This role typically supervises accounting staff, manages complex accounting tasks, and assists with audits, budgeting, financial controls and balance sheet reconciliations. This role will have a significant role in the management and oversight of the AP and AR functions including overall process improvements to the procure‑to‑pay and order‑to‑cash process.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monthly closing of AP and AR.
- Manage and oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Analyze financial data and provide insightful reporting to management.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Lead the month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
- Review work prepared by staff accountants to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit preparations.
- Monitor and improve internal accounting controls and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Assist with tax preparation and regulatory reporting when required.
- Participate and contribute to the implementation of new ERP.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5‑8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software (Great Plains/Microsoft Business Dynamics)
- Knowledge and understanding of cost accounting concepts and practical applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred (or in progress).
- Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
- Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Background in manufacturing or cost accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

- Effective communication and reporting skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
