Job Title: Director of Preschool and Early Learning (Birth to age
5)
Reports To: Director of Student Services
Supervises: District Early Childhood Program (Birth to age
5)
Employment Status: Exempt/Salary
Summary: Supports Greenfield-Central School District’s Early Learning programming and aligns with the district’s vision of “Learning for all - All for Learning”.
Qualifications- Valid Indiana teaching license for the assigned grade, level, and/or subject(s).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Certification in School Administration or Director.
- Successful classroom teaching experience, preferably in a PreK–3 setting.
- Preferred experience with students who have special needs.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
- Evidence of impactful student growth and achievement.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and build a professional community of adult learners.
- Leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Proficiency in using student-level data to guide instructional decisions.
- Strong early childhood pedagogical knowledge of research‑based best practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate families and teachers.
Manager & Community Advocate
- Maintains state and federal staff records and ensures compliance with training requirements.
- Oversees Paths to QUALITY accreditation and district initiatives.
- Manages summer K101 program in partnership with Purdue University Extension.
- Aligns program decisions with NAEYC and INAEYC standards.
- Secures funding for families in need through programs such as FSSA/CCDF and On My Way PreK.
- Co‑ordinates with special education staff to ensure compliance and delivery of services.
- Facilitates Child Find screening and preschool intake meetings, including home visits.
- Acts as public agency representative during case conferences for IDEA and Article 7 services.
- Ensures students are placed in the most appropriate least restrictive environment.
- Collaborates with families to support early learning at home and promotes Cougar Cubs Preschool.
- Manages hiring, evaluation, enrollment, and day‑to‑day operations of the program.
- Supports budgeting responsibilities and tuition collection procedures.
- Maintains and updates program handbooks for staff and families.
Curriculum Specialist
- Base instructional decisions on IN Foundations Early Learning Standards to assess strengths and target areas.
- Vertically aligns curriculum with district strategic plans in partnership with the Director of Elementary Education and the Director of Student Services.
- Collaborates with community preschool teachers to develop shared beliefs and common expectations.
- Promotes best practices in early literacy aligned with Science of Reading research.
Instructional Specialist
- Educates staff on early literacy best practices and Science of Reading.
- Models student‑driven outcomes, purposeful play, and inquiry‑based approaches.
- Works with teachers to make learning visible and document student learning.
- Conducts walk‑throughs and classroom observations regularly.
- Provides guidance, structure, and reflective opportunities to teachers.
Assessment Specialist
- Models mining and analyzing student data for instructional decisions.
- Promotes creation and use of assessments to differentiate instruction.
- Supports administration of required early learning state assessments including ISPROUT.
Professional Learning Facilitator
- Builds relationships with educators within and beyond the district.
- Designs and facilitates job‑embedded professional development based on educators’ needs.
- Plans, attends, and facilitates training sessions throughout the school year.
- Observes educators and provides evaluative feedback.
- Offers opportunities for educators to observe specific teaching methods.
- Co‑plans and co‑teaches to support differentiated instruction.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 25 lbs, work at a desk or conference table, and perform other routine tasks. Requires clear sight and hearing for normal conversation and office equipment operation.

Terms of Employment200 days per year.
SalaryExpected salary: $81,200.
EvaluationPerformance evaluated per Board policy on Evaluations of Certified Staff.
