Job TitleOperations Supervisor (2nd Shift) – Greenfield, IN
What You Will Do- Perform Gemba walks with supervisors once per week, reviewing standard work, WPO, Basic Problem Solving, TPM, and Just do It.
- Lead value‑stream improvement sessions to review task status and conduct brainstorming.
- Conduct formal audits of the entire area regularly to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and standard work.
- Participate in daily plant production meetings, rapid improvement events, and special projects as assigned.
- Monitor daily production and adjust plans to meet revenue and other business targets.
- Adjust labor to meet customer demand and supervise labor additions or reductions as needed.
This role leads 1‑2 Team Leaders and up to 30 hourly employees in operations. You will provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team, and recommend and carry out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, and train employees.
- Plan, assign, and direct work.
- Appraise performance, reward and discipline employees.
- Address complaints and resolve problems with support from the current Shift Supervisor.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effective presentation skills to respond to managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Problem‑solving skills involving mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and job risk assessment.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing tools.
- Ability to perform tasks according to ISO 9001/14001/18001 standards.
- Five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with progressive leadership, e.g., Assembly Operator to Team Leader.
