Job Summary
In this role, the Manager, Supply Chain will be responsible for the efficient coordination and management of all procurement, warehousing, and planning for the Indiana location. The Manager will develop the supply chain management strategy and build the processes that guarantee efficient movement and storage of raw materials, work‑in‑progress inventory, and all finished goods from point of origin to point of consumption.
Plant planning, procurement and warehouse functions will report directly to the Manager, Supply Chain. The role is part of the leadership team of the site, focusing on ramping a state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility from the ground up. The Manager must be skilled in the technical aspects of supply chain while showing initiative and ownership to shape a safe, efficient, and high‑performing workplace.
- Define and implement comprehensive strategies for all aspects of the West, Indiana site to manage costs, mitigate risk, ensure quality, minimize customer lead times and manage inventories.
- Strategically develop production plans in coordination with the Regional Planner/s and direct plant personnel in the execution of the approved plans—following their review and approval at the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting.
- Adhere to monthly S&OP schedule in providing inputs & managing outputs and participate in all required production and supply chain/customer meetings.
- Direct the teams that develop and execute production, inventory, and material plans.
- Collaborate with the regional planner & demand analyst to understand customer demand and market drivers to facilitate a balancing of capacity (tool, machine and labor), inventory and delivery lead‑time in the development of the production plan.
- Execute Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) for key resources (tools, machine, labor and material) to establish that the Production Plan is achievable and recommend the need for additional resources.
- Create structure, develop personnel, give direction, integrate/leverage global capabilities, and hold team members accountable.
- Continuously develop/enhance supply chain productivity and operational processes, implementing industry best practices for forecasting, sourcing, risk mitigation, inventory and vendor management.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance in planning for discussions related to purchasing of raw materials.
- Manage the customer order cycle and communication between plant, headquarters, and the customer.
- Monitor manufacturing lead times and delivery performance to assure targeted customer service levels are being achieved.
- Lead effective product transfer plans and support the database coordinator to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the ERP and MES data.
- Support and contribute to Lean/Six Sigma programs and activities.
- Serve as a member of the site leadership team and participate in the decision‑making process.
