Machine Operator - Heat Treatment, Barrel Zinc, and Dip Spin Operator

Location:

Greenfield, Indiana

Shift: All training takes place on 1st shift, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Once done training, you can pick between 2nd shift (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) or 3rd shift (10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.).

Pay: $
21.00 per hour for 1st shift, $
22.00 per hour for 2nd shift, $
23.00 per hour for 3rd shift

Primary

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine set-up and changeover of machines, adjusting as needed to process operations accordingly.
  • Run orders per product specifications and standard practices. This may include sorting, labeling, and packaging products per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices.
  • Perform tests and check products routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring tools, calipers, micrometers etc.
  • Understand and implement quality standards and procedures.
  • Meet production schedules and program production sequences for optimal productivity.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher-level technical personnel and monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
  • Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
  • Maintain work area with necessary supplies to complete processes – 4S+ standard work.
  • Operate heavy equipment necessary to move, load, and ship material and/or finished products throughout the manufacturing environment.
  • Support inventory accuracy by completing cycle counts and correcting discrepancies to achieve business goals.
  • Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals.
  • Contribute and participate in team decision making processes including problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Provide support in project work and other special requests.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
What You Will Need
  • Six months of related experience and/or training, one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Machine aptitude (preferred).
  • Trouble shooting experience (preferred).
  • Good communication.
  • Organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to lift container up to 25lbs (repetitively) to 100lbs (occasionally).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, use of hands, walk, bend, and or twist.
  • Ability to work 12+ hours (including Saturdays and Sundays).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear. The Team Member is occasionally required to stand and use hands, walk, bend, lift, or twist. The Team Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The Team Member occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

The Team Member must be able to lift a container of fasteners weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to sit; to use their hands to finger, handle, or feel;

and to talk or hear.
