Fabricator - Press Brake (3rd Shift)
This role is for a skilled Press Brake Set Up Operator on 3rd shift in a modern manufacturing environment. You will set up and operate Amada press brake machines to fabricate aluminum and carbon steel components, ensuring high-quality, precise parts through accurate setup, measurement, and quality checks.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machinery ranging from 60-ton to 250-ton Amada press machines for production runs.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine proper machine settings, tooling, and fabrication requirements.
- Perform machine setup activities, including selecting, installing, and changing out tooling and dies based on the product being run.
- Adjust machine settings and processes based on in-process quality checks to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality.
- Bend, contour, and punch holes in aluminum and carbon steel sheets or rolls according to specifications.
- Use critical math skills and tape measures to calculate bend allowances, verify dimensions, and ensure parts meet print requirements.
- Utilize quality instruments such as gauges and calipers to inspect parts and confirm they meet tolerance and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot basic machine and setup issues to maintain efficient and safe operation.
- Work effectively in a job shop and custom fabrication environment, adapting to varied parts and short-run production.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area throughout the shift.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating press brake machines, preferably Amada machines from 60T to 250T.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading to accurately interpret dimensions, tolerances, and fabrication requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to perform complete machine setups, including tooling selection, installation, and die changes.
- Strong critical math skills for calculating measurements, bend allowances, and verifying part dimensions.
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure for layout and dimensional verification.
- Experience using quality instruments such as gauges and calipers to inspect and verify parts.
- Experience in a job shop or custom fabrication environment working with varied parts and production runs.
- Capability to troubleshoot basic press brake setup and operation issues.
- Familiarity with brake press machines and safe operating practices in a metal fabrication setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in progressive press set up or similar metal forming operations.
- Prior work in custom fabrication environments handling aluminum and carbon steel materials.
- Comfort working on a consistent 3rd shift schedule.
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality in a production environment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a job shop setting.

Work Environment
This position operates in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility focused on metal fabrication, using Amada press brake machines ranging from 60T to 250T and standard quality instruments such as gauges and calipers. The role is on 3rd shift, working Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The environment is production-oriented, with an emphasis on safety, accuracy, and maintaining an organized work area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
