You clock in, review a new set of fabrication drawings, and map out how a flat sheet becomes a precise three-dimensional accessory. You lay out bend lines, add tabs and relief cuts, and account for bend allowances. The shear hums, the turret punch cycles, and the press brake forms each component exactly to spec. Pieces come together at the bench with rivets, screws, and self‑clinching fasteners to a visible‑finish standard.

Along the way, you verify dimensions, document first‑piece checks, and pause work to address anything out of normal—because getting it right the first time matters.

Throughout the week, you rotate across work centers—turret punch, brakes, folders, and shears—sharpening your craft through structured training and cross‑development. You keep the area organized, share tips with teammates, and take pride in assemblies that look as good as they fit.

What you'll build and how you'll do it Transform fabrication drawings into accurate flat patterns for multi‑piece formed assemblies, planning tabs, reliefs, and bend allowances.

Shear, punch, and form components with a focus on accuracy and material efficiency.

Assemble parts using rivets, screws, and self‑clinching fasteners to achieve a visible‑quality finish.

Set up and run turret‑punch equipment, brakes, folders, and shears as needed for each job.

Work to custom dimensions and specifications unique to every project.

Check critical dimensions and workmanship against drawings before work advances.

Complete and record quality checks, including first‑piece verification when required.

Identify and communicate abnormal conditions, equipment or safety concerns, and ideas to cut waste or rework.

Maintain an orderly work area and actively participate in training, skill growth, and knowledge sharing.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; certifications not required.

Preferred experience

Laying out flat patterns from an existing finished part.

Turret‑punch, CNC‑punch, or laser cutting operation.

Working with self‑clinching fastening systems.

Architectural or finish‑critical metal fabrication.

Coaching or mentoring at a work center.

Training and growth

All Accessories Fabrication Specialists begin on first shift to access experienced trainers and core resources. Most teammates reach independent performance across the full accessories range in approximately 4–6 months. If hired for a later shift, you will move to that assignment after completing the required training period.

Physical demands and environment

Manufacturing floor environment with frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting.

Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds or more.

Regular exposure to industrial equipment, noise, dust, and moving machinery.

Use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Capability to perform physical work for extended periods during the shift.
