Qualifications
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of the education and skills needed in the Emergency Department.
  • Educates and advocates for associates within the Emergency Department.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of associates in a diverse community.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for general clinical education including assisting department with programs and in services, designing, conducting, and tracking CBL's and training sessions, and providing results of program evaluations.
  • Responsible for all phases of Department Orientation including: planning, schedule preparation, conducting sessions, assuring all elements are completed, and documentation is recorded and is electronically filed.
  • Works in collaboration with the Clinical Education Specialist to maintain course records in Net Learning.
  • Create and update training materials, manuals, and reference guides related to emergency care practices.
  • Ensure that training content aligns with current best practices, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Designs CBL's for Net Learning and plans simulation learning and drills.
  • Actively participates on teams/committees for improving clinical care and clinical equipment.
  • Provides oversight and mentorship to the onboarding of new associates.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and technical skill necessary for providing competent, comprehensive and age‑specific patient care.
  • Serves as a professional role model for others. Demonstrates ability to teach/instruct patients, families and/or colleagues.
  • Demonstrates computer and keyboarding skills necessary to provide a complete and accurate electronic medical record.
  • Utilizes effective verbal, non‑verbal and written forms of communication. Works effectively with others consistently demonstrating tact, discretion, diplomacy and a commitment to teamwork and Patients First.
  • Strong teaching, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop educational materials and training programs.
  • Familiarity with clinical procedures, emergency protocols, and patient care standards in an ER setting.
  • Experience with simulation‑based training and other interactive teaching methods.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure.
  • Patient and empathetic with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.

Certification / License
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
Additional Licensure / Credential Requirements
  • Registered Nurse, graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • Bachelor of Science, Nursing required.
  • Master of Science, Nursing preferred.
  • Clinical background in emergency medicine.
  • Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) is preferred.
