CORE COMPETENCIES:

- Provides case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management, and acts as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care.
- Provides efficient and effective care with the guidance of the physician during the clinic sessions, attends the clinics where scheduled and is dependable.
- Able to manage a number of patients at the same time with high energy and organization.
- Collaborates with other health care providers, wound care center physicians, Program Director, Medical Director and Supervisor regarding clinic and patient needs.
- Bases care on the nursing process.
- Demonstrates thorough, accurate and timely assessments while exhibiting necessary response to changes in the patient's condition.
- Provides and documents care per hospital and department policies and procedures. Demonstrates competence in clinical and technical skills.
- Provides instructions to patient/families regarding cardiology procedures and care following discharge.
- Seeks educational opportunities to improve knowledge/skill.
- Participates in identifying or recommending areas for improvement.
- Completes work in an efficient, timely manner that is conducive to team work and cost containment.
- Communicates in a clear, concise and professional manner.
- Performs nursing care following safety principles, OSHA guidelines and infection control guidelines.
- Provides patient care following the Patient's First Commitment, AIDET, and customer service training.
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR);
Registered Nurse (RN).
Current licensure by the state board of nursing RN. ASN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMandatory Annual Continuing
Education:
Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Confidentiality-HIPAA, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance. Annual Unit Specific Competencies, and all education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
