About the Role
This fully onsite Scientist II position is located at Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Greenfield, IN Laboratory. The role involves advanced diagnostic testing, sample analysis, instrumentation maintenance, data analysis, and continuous improvement of laboratory procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform complex sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in various formulations and biological matrices for stability and analytical testing.
- Work with multiple functional groups to meet business needs.
- Plan and organize work with periodic supervision.
- Set up and maintain analytical instrumentation.
- Train in routine operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure QA findings are addressed appropriately.
- Provide assistance and training for other team members.
- Problem‑solve independently or with assistance regarding extraction or instrumentation issues.
- Communicate project status to the project leader.
- Perform work assignments accurately, timely, and safely.
- Review, interpret, and analyze data for compliance with protocols, methods, SOPs, client criteria, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Perform self and peer review of data for accuracy before submission to QA and issuance to customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (or equivalent) and relevant formal academic or vocational qualification.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and directly related experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge of techniques such as HPLC, CE, iCIEF, and ELISA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to interpret data through trend analysis.
- Technical writing skills.
- Independent optimization of analytical methods.
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Time‑management and project‑management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
